Houston based private equity firm ZT Wealth recently announced that they have exited their portfolio entity ZT Restaurants, L.P. for $15.3 million, implying an EBITDA multiple of 7.19x. In this liquidity event, ZT Restaurants, L.P. sold its assets of world-renowned Quick Service Restaurants brand, Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen. ZT Restaurants, L.P. partners will make over a 25% return in addition to their original investment. The investment has generated an IRR of over 23%, which includes 10% cash on cash distributions during the investment life cycle.

Briana Scurry Becomes 1st African-American Woman Elected to National Soccer Hall of Fame
Briana Scurry’s soccer career began in Dayton, Minnesota. The 12-year-old was the only African-American and only girl on the team. Thirty-two years later, Scurry became the only African-American woman in the National Soccer Hall of Fame after she was elected recently in her fourth year of eligibility. The starting goaltender for the U.S. women’s national team that won the 1999 Women’s World Cup also was the first female goalie chosen for the hall, according to The Washington Post’s Steven Goff.

During the regular session, the Texas House passed a school finance plan - House Bill 21 in the regular session - which was also supported by the LSG. HB 21(85(R)) was an important first step in school finance reform, however the Chairman of the Senate Education Committee refused to appoint conferees to negotiate with the House and so the bill died.
