Thurgood Marshall School of Law Makes Progress Toward Full ABA Standards Compliance
The Accreditation Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA) has concluded that Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law is making progress toward full compliance of several ABA standards that were found to be in violation in 2015 and 2016. The committee further concluded that the law school has achieved complete remediation of one standard.

Deadline Extended for Public Input on Changes to Chapter 19
City Council Member Dave Martin appreciates the comments received by many District E residents, and is happy to announce that Mayor Sylvester Turner has changed the deadline for public input on changes to City of Houston Chapter 19 to Monday, March 5 at 5:00 p.m. After the proposed changes were presented to Council during a Joint Transportation, Technology, and Infrastructure/Regulation and Neighborhood Affairs Committee Meeting last Monday, February, 12, Council Member Martin provided strong feedback to Mayor Turner, demanding residents be given more time to participate in the process.

NLC Statement on the Senate Coronavirus Relief Proposal
Today, the Senate released an initial proposal for the next round of federal coronavirus relief. The framework, the HEALS Act, will kick off negotiations between the Senate, House and Administration on a final relief package, hoping to be passed before Congress departs for August recess. As proposed, the HEALS Act does not include additional funds for state and local governments. Following the announcement of this proposed legislation, Clarence E.
