Council Member Dave Martin Hosts Clear Lake/Southeast Houston Town Hall Meeting

Houston, TX - Houston City Council Member Dave Martin will host a town hall meeting on Thursday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m., in the Destiny Theater at Space Center Houston, 1601 NASA Parkway, Houston, TX 77058.

The community is invited to attend and hear from city and community representatives about ongoing projects, issues and community news related to the Clear Lake and Southeast Houston areas of District E. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and informational tables will be set up outside of the theater.

This fall's town hall meeting will include presentations from the City of Houston Public Works and Engineering (PWE), Administration and Regulatory Affairs (ARA) Departments, and the Department of Neighborhoods. PWE will be discussing upcoming infrastructure projects as well as providing an update on the progress that has been made in partnership with Harris County on the El Dorado Boulevard Expansion Project. Representatives from ARA will be providing an overview of the 3-1-1 and "SeeClickFix" systems. TaKasha Francis, Director of the Department of Neighborhoods, will also be presenting on the function of the department and how they work to improve the quality of life in Houston neighborhoods.

Additionally, Houston Fire Department Chief Samuel Peña and Houston Police Department Clear Lake Substation Captain Dana Hitzman will be providing updates from their departments.

In light of recent concerns with homelessness in the Clear Lake/Southeast Houston areas, Council Member Martin has invited Marc Eichenbaum, Special Assistant to Mayor Sylvester Turner for Homeless Initiatives, to provide information on the City of Houston's recent campaign to address homelessness, "Meaningful Change".

Lastly, the Lone Star Flight Museum will be open at its new location, Ellington Field, on Saturday, September 2. Council Member Martin has asked that a representative from the museum discuss the programs and opportunities available at the newly relocated historic museum in District E.
