It’s hard to believe that one year ago Port Houston launched the Business Equity initiative. This initiative provides resources to small, minority- and woman-owned businesses (S/MWBE) seeking to grow and participate in Port Houston procurement and contracting processes. In 2021 Port Houston launched a minority- and woman-owned business enterprise (MWBE) initiative to compliment and expand on the accomplishments of the successful small business program. The new umbrella, Business Equity, is more than a procurement program it is an organizational commitment and investment to serving the local business community.
