Master P On Rap Feuds, Conscious Parenting, Black Superheroes

Sitting among carved mahogany wood paneled accents and with displayed awards gathered from an unrivaled multi-hyphenate career, Master P began our conversation by allowing me to take the floor. Not surprisingly, he is a master delegator with a brilliant sense of when to shoot the ball and when to pass it. One of the greatest minds to emerge from the 1990s hip hop pantheon, Percy “Master P” Miller transcended a childhood of poverty in New Orleans’ Calliope Projects, to become a beacon of generational wealth, divested business interests, and ownership in an industry once notorious for exploiting its artists. From music, movies and real estate, to the food and automotive industries, his portfolio continues to grow.

On September 30, 2005, 14-year-old ShaQuanda Cotton attempted to enter a school building to take a prescribed medication before classes began. An encounter with a teacher’s aide on her way to the nurse’s office that morning led to her arrest, and months later the teen was adjudicated delinquent by a Lamar County court for assault on a public servant. What began as an ordinary day at school resulted in her being removed from the care of her mother and sentenced to an indeterminate term of up to seven years in a Texas juvenile detention facility. The California Recall and You

Next Tuesday, every registered voter in the State of California will have an opportunity to cast a vote on the question of whether to recall Governor Gavin Newsom and replace him with one of over 40 candidates on the ballot, or, vote “NO” on question number one and keep him in office for the rest of his term. You might not think this election matters to you or concerns you. You could not be more wrong, if you fail to do your part by not voting, and he is recalled,

How 9/11 changed travel forever

When this century began, you could pull up to the airport 20 minutes before a domestic flight in the United States and stroll straight over to your gate. Perhaps your partner would come through security to wave you goodbye. You might not have a photo ID in your carry-on, but you could have blades and liquids.

Contracts, Grants and Those Intended to Be Served

Some of this happens without ever providing notice that contracts or grants are available. For the benefit of both grantors and grantees, it should be stated as a reminder that public policy requires a notice of the availability of such funds and the right for those interested or affected parties to have an opportunity to apply for such funds. This is done by issuing a “RFP” (Request for Proposals) or a “RFQ” (Request for Quotes) on a proposed project. Due Process under Federal Statutes (Title 5 USC Sec 554 and 555) sets out this process.

'Impeachment: American Crime Story' dissects the Clinton scandal with Monica Lewinsky's input

The "American Crime Story" banner launched by O.J. Simpson's trial is an odd one for FX's "Impeachment," an otherwise engrossing, undeniably juicy limited series that puts the women front and center in the Bill Clinton impeachment scandal. Sarah Paulson's portrayal of Linda Tripp steals the show, but there's no shortage of remarkable work in a production that deserves an Emmy for its prosthetic makeup alone.
