Hyundai EV Owners Gain Access to 20,000+ Tesla Superchargers: A Game-Changer for Electric Mobility

As the electric vehicle (EV) revolution accelerates, Hyundai is making a bold move to enhance charging accessibility for its customers. Starting today, Hyundai EV owners across the U.S. can tap into more than 20,000 Tesla Superchargers using a North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter—marking a major milestone in the brand’s commitment to EV convenience and sustainability.

Charging Made Easier for Hyundai Drivers

Owners of eligible Hyundai models, including the KONA Electric, IONIQ Electric (hatchback), IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and the 2025 IONIQ 5 N, will now enjoy expanded fast-charging options. Hyundai has designed a complimentary CCS-to-NACS adapter exclusively for its vehicles, allowing seamless connectivity to Tesla’s powerful charging infrastructure.

Starting April 7, 2025, Hyundai will begin emailing eligible EV owners—those who purchased or leased their vehicle on or before January 31, 2025—with instructions on how to claim their free adapter. This initiative nearly doubles the availability of DC fast-charging stations for Hyundai owners, offering peace of mind and greater flexibility on the road.

Hyundai’s Commitment to a Smarter EV Future

Hyundai’s latest expansion isn’t just about convenience—it’s part of a larger strategy to accelerate EV adoption by: ✅ Providing best-in-class charging speeds for its EV lineup
✅ Equipping future models like the 2025 IONIQ 5, upcoming 2026 IONIQ 9, and beyond with native NACS ports
✅ Investing in U.S.-based EV and battery production in Savannah, GA
✅ Expanding access to high-speed chargers through the IONNA joint-venture network
✅ Offering exclusive discounted charging rates and incentives for Hyundai customers

How Hyundai EV Owners Can Claim Their Free Adapter

Hyundai is rewarding early adopters by offering one free adapter per eligible vehicle. To qualify, customers must: 1️⃣ Own a qualifying Hyundai EV purchased/leased on or before January 31, 2025
2️⃣ Have an active MyHyundai.com owner’s account with email communication enabled
3️⃣ Receive an official email from Hyundai beginning April 7, 2025, confirming eligibility and shipping details
4️⃣ Verify and accept the adapter usage terms and conditions
5️⃣ Confirm or update their shipping address before the 60-day redemption window closes
6️⃣ Receive a tracking number once the adapter ships

Future Hyundai EVs: Built for Seamless Charging

The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 and future EV models will feature built-in NACS ports, eliminating the need for an adapter altogether. This means plug-and-go convenience at Tesla Superchargers and other NACS-compatible stations. Customers with these models will not need or qualify for a complimentary adapter, as they’ll already be equipped for direct access.

For Hyundai EV owners in Canada, Hyundai Motor Canada will provide specific details regarding Tesla Supercharger access and adapter availability later this year.
