In a remarkable moment of professional and spiritual achievement, Tiffany Charles, Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Houston Christian University (HCU), has been named Admissions Officer of the Year by the North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals (NACCAP). The honor was announced during the 2025 NACCAP Annual Conference, held May 28–30 on HCU’s own campus.
Recognized as a rising star in the field of Christian higher education, Charles was selected for her unwavering dedication, bold leadership, and deep commitment to service that transcends the admissions process and embodies the mission of faith-based education.
“I am truly humbled and honored to receive this award from NACCAP,” Charles said. “For me it’s simple—serve greater. Take the stage, Lord, and have Your way. I am a vessel and nothing more.”
A Career Marked by Purpose and Perseverance
Charles joined HCU in 2016 and has steadily ascended through the admissions ranks with tenacity, grace, and a spirit-led approach to leadership. Her efforts have not only set new records in undergraduate enrollment but have also built a culture of care, accountability, and faith within the admissions team.
In her nomination, colleagues praised Charles for her all-in work ethic, noting that she often pushes herself so hard she’s literally placed on “vocal rest” from speaking engagements. But for Charles, the drive comes from a place of passion—for God, for HCU, and for empowering students.
“Tiffany is amazing, and no one works harder than she does,” said one colleague. “She doesn’t do anything halfway—it’s always 110%. Tiffany is deeply passionate about her faith and HCU. She is absolutely an up-and-coming leader in the enrollment management field.”
Recognized by Peers, Respected Across the Nation
Charles was presented the award by Willem de Ruijter, Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing at Geneva College, who underscored the significance of the honor in front of a room full of her peers and mentors from across North America.
“Tiffany is an incredible asset,” added Dr. James Steen, HCU’s Vice President of Enrollment Management & Marketing. “She has completed the College Board’s Enrollment Leadership Academy and remains highly engaged with admissions organizations at the state and national levels. Her influence continues to grow.”
Academic Roots, Spiritual Calling
A first-generation college graduate, Charles earned her associate’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies magna cum laude from Kaplan University. She later pursued a degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English from Grand Canyon University. Her educational journey and professional ascent serve as a beacon of inspiration to students navigating their own paths.
