HOUSTON, TX – In a proud moment for Texas education, two Houston campuses from Harmony Public Schools have earned national acclaim for their innovative and character-driven educational approaches. Harmony School of Innovation-Houston and Harmony School of Ingenuity have been recognized as 2025 Promising Practices by Character.org, a national advocate for character development in schools and communities.
This distinguished recognition honors schools that exemplify creative, effective strategies to nurture ethical, responsible, and engaged citizens. The selected campuses demonstrated practices that not only foster character strengths but also actively engage students, families, educators, and the broader community.
“We are extremely proud to recognize the schools and organizations that have developed and implemented a Promising Practice,” said Dr. Arthur Schwartz, President of Character.org. “Each of these programs has demonstrated measurable impact and aligns deeply with our mission to cultivate cultures of character in schools nationwide.”
A Culture of Character and Innovation
Harmony’s winning practices reflect a commitment to student voice, leadership development, and service-learning opportunities that connect classroom learning to real-world impact. These practices promote a school culture where doing the right thing becomes second nature—not for rewards, but because it's the right thing to do.
Character.org’s 2025 Promising Practices span a diverse range of initiatives, including peer mentoring, empathy-building activities, and inclusive community-building efforts. Many of these practices involve collaboration with families and local partners—an approach Harmony schools have long championed.
