From June 6–8, food lovers and sushi aficionados are invited to experience a weekend of flavor, tradition, and festive celebration—highlighted by half-priced hand rolls, $15 sake flights, and a mesmerizing traditional Lion Dance on Saturday, June 7 at 7:00 p.m. on Waterway Avenue.

Taking its name from the Japanese word kokoro—which translates to "heart" or "spirit"—this new sushi concept is more than just a restaurant; it’s a tribute to artistry, intimacy, and culinary legacy. Helmed by renowned chefs Patrick Pham and Daniel Lee, who honed their skills side-by-side at the acclaimed Uchi, Kokoro offers guests a front-row seat to the magic behind the sushi bar, where tradition meets innovation with every bite.

From Bravery Chef Hall to Global Acclaim

What began as a bold vision inside Bravery Chef Hall in downtown Houston has now become a rising empire. Since opening their first location in July 2019, Chefs Patrick and Daniel have expanded Kokoro's footprint to include two locations in Dubai—launched in May 2024 and January 2025—before returning home to Texas for this latest chapter.

Each Kokoro location is a showcase of refined Japanese flavors presented with modern elegance.
