This Father’s Day, a special message is sailing home to Kemah, Texas, from thousands of miles away. Petty Officer 1st Class Carter Burlison, a proud Galveston native serving in the United States Navy, is sending love and gratitude to their father, Chris Burlison, as they continue their mission to defend and serve our nation.

“Happy Father’s Day, Dad,” said Burlison. “I love you and miss you. What you told me years ago became my life motto: Go hard, go fast, and never give up.”

Burlison serves as an aviation structural mechanic specializing in safety equipment with Patrol Squadron 40 (VP-40), a unit dedicated to safeguarding America’s interests around the globe. While military service often means missing milestones and holidays with family, Burlison remains anchored by a deep sense of duty—and by the lessons learned from home.

“Serving in the Navy means being a part of something greater than myself,” Burlison shared. “It’s about honor, courage, and commitment—values that push me to grow personally and professionally. It means sacrificing comfort and time with loved ones to ensure the mission gets done and our nation stays secure. To me, it's also about being dependable when it matters most and taking care of the people I serve alongside.”
