Baltimore, MD – August 12, 2025 — The PGA TOUR’s best are back in Baltimore this week as the BMW Championship returns to Caves Valley Golf Club, bringing with it elite golf, celebrity appearances, and a legacy of giving that has already surpassed $60 million in support for the Evans Scholars Foundation.
From August 14–17, the top 50 players in the FedExCup standings will battle it out in this prestigious playoff event, headlined by World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and four-time major champion Rory McIlroy. With just one stop separating them from the TOUR Championship in Atlanta, every shot counts in this penultimate leg of the season.

A Tournament Steeped in History
First played in 1899 as the Western Open, the BMW Championship is the third-oldest tournament on the PGA TOUR, behind only the British Open and U.S. Open. Past champions read like a who’s who of golf royalty — Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods — cementing its status as a proving ground for legends.
BMW has been the title sponsor since 2007, transforming the tournament into not just a world-class sporting event, but a powerful engine for education through its charitable partner, the Evans Scholars Foundation.
Celebrity Spotlight: Gardner Heidrick Pro-Am
The action kicks off Wednesday, August 13, with the annual Gardner Heidrick Pro-Am, pairing PGA TOUR stars with celebrity guests to raise funds for Evans Scholars. This year’s lineup includes pop icons The Jonas Brothers, who will also treat guests to an exclusive live performance following play.
The Pro-Am is the Foundation’s largest fundraising event of the year, helping provide full college tuition and housing to exceptional caddies nationwide. Today, a record 1,260 Evans Scholars are enrolled at 27 universities across the country.
Major Milestones in Education
Earlier this week, BMW executives and dignitaries cut the ribbon on the new Evans Scholars House at the University of Maryland, a facility that will house up to 38 student scholars. The achievement was made possible in part by proceeds from the 2021 BMW Championship at Caves Valley.
BMW also keeps things exciting on the course:
Hole-in-One Scholarship – The first PGA TOUR player to record an ace on any hole during competition earns a full four-year Evans Scholarship for a deserving caddie.
Hole-in-One Vehicle – The first player to ace the par-three 17th hole will claim the keys to the all-electric BMW iX M70, a 811 lb.-ft torque performance SUV.
Fan Experiences: More Than Golf
The BMW Championship is as much about spectator experience as it is about championship golf. Fans can enjoy:
BMW Owners’ Pavilion – Premium views, upscale hospitality, and exclusive perks for BMW drivers.
BMW Fan Experience Zone – Skee-Ball chipping games, Ryder Cup-themed displays, a Baltimore Biergarten, and a Long Putt Challenge.
MINI Zone – See the latest electric MINI models and win a one-month lease.
Guests can also access the BMW Championship Ultimate Experience Pass by scanning QR codes onsite, unlocking streamlined entry to attractions and interactive zones.
Why It Matters
Since 2007, the BMW Championship has been a driving force for educational opportunity, raising more than $60 million and helping over 4,000 caddies become college graduates. Its return to Baltimore is not just a sports headline — it’s a celebration of community, opportunity, and the enduring link between competition and compassion.
