The University of Texas at Austin to honor, alumnus Griffin and others, May 24, 2023, in Austin, TX, with the “Precursors We are Texas East Mall project launch. Historical Markers for the first Black undergraduates at the University of Texas at Austin will be placed on campus.

“A monument will be erected in our ( Precursors ) honor. My life journey will be archived in the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History, “ Griffin says.

Griffin received his BS in mathematics [1970]. He became the City of Missouri City Commissioner and has been a White House Guest at The Fiftieth Anniversary Civil Rights Summit in Austin.
