JCSTS Drum Major for Justice MLK Cohort Holds Graduate Certificate Ceremony

Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary (JCSTS) will host the 2022 Drum Major for Justice Certificate Ceremony for the MLK Cohort on June 12, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. Recognition will be presented to 8 Learning Partners who studied a 5-month curricula inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King’s justice philosophy.

They have met the requirements of this facilitated cohort-based competency-based model. Learning Partners (JCSTS term for “students”) represent a range of multi-faith profiles and community leadership roles.

They engaged this course of studies with individual paths of impact and understanding in their conversations. The Learning Partners are positioned to further their justice impact in various communities across the U.S. JCSTS President Paul Roberts and Rev. Amantha Barbee, Cohort Leader, will lead a special ceremony of achievement for Learning Partners and their families.

The JCSTS Drum Major for Justice 2022 for the MLK Cohort recipients include Gloria J. Browne-Marshall, Sydney Freeman, Jr., Hermina Glass-Hill, Charles Stanley Goodman, Rev. Carolyn L. Grice, Rev. Nancy Kingwood, Roberta E. Pringle, and Rev. William Wilkinson.

The purpose of The Drum Major for Justice Certificate in Public Theology is to equip pastors, lay people, activists, and others to find their voice in collaboration and organized action with others.
