The Ensemble Theatre celebrates its 45th Anniversary Season with “Single Black Female”

The Ensemble Theatre continues its 45th Anniversary Season with the production of Single Black Female by Lisa B. Thompson. The Theatre welcomes back who was last seen in The Lawsons: A Civil Rights Love Story. Crystal Rae has graced The Ensemble stage many times in productions such as Mahalia, da kink in my hair and the Nacerima Society. She brings life to this production alongside former Young Performer DeQuina Moore who is an accomplished actress, singer-songwriter, performer, producer, entrepreneur, and author. She returned home to The Ensemble Theatre stage as Josephine Baker in the bio-musical, Josephine Tonight. DeQuina’s highlights include originating Little Shop of Horrors’ Chiffon on Broadway, and also originating in Broadway’s Legally Blonde the Musical as Pilar.

This two-person production will spit-fire under the direction of Eileen J. Morris. “This production is an entertaining and fun, yet nostalgic production with something anyone can relate to,” says Morris. “In the words of the playwright,’...and we are all not the same, but we are looking for the same thing. To put it simply, LOVE."
