Kroger Here to Support Communities Through Hurricane Delta

Kroger is ready to serve Gulf Coast during preparations and in aftermath of the storm.

As Hurricane Delta makes its way towards the Gulf Coast, Kroger is deploying resources to ensure families across Louisiana can stock up on much needed supplies ahead of the storm’s impact. Several trailers of water have been delivered and shelves have been stocked with emergency supplies at the Lake Charles and Sulphur area stores in anticipation of landfall.

Kroger has announced that they will close the Lake Charles and Sulphur locations at 2pm today to ensure associates and their families can stay safe through the storm.

Kroger Supports Community Damaged By Hurricane Delta

“Our hearts are with Louisiana and we want our customers to know that we are here to support in preparations and in the aftermath of the storm.” said Joe Kelley, President of Kroger, Houston. “However, to ensure our store teams are safe with their families, we are closing a small number of locations tonight and will reopen as soon as it’s safe to do so, to serve our communities.”

Another way Kroger is preparing is through their support of disaster relief through the American Red Cross, recently donating half-a-million dollars to the organization to support local communities in crisis. Customers across Greater Houston and Louisiana can help too by choosing to round-up their total at checkout to the nearest dollar, with proceeds benefiting the American Red Cross.
