Author Sam Brown Offers Safe Dining Options for the Houston Area During the Pandemic

With state and local governments adjusting to the reality of measured reopening and social distancing, Sam Brown, author of Unique Eats and Eateries of Houston, has put together a number of safe and socially conscious places to eat from the book.

Here are but a few:

*Savor a memorable and home-cooked meal at The Breakfast Klub, a black-owned restaurant serving takeout of their big, bold, and beloved soul food breakfast to the people of Houston.

*Drink craft beer outside the historic Axelrad Beer Garden, which has been participating in great social distancing activities such as drive-in rooftop concerts and movies, live-streamed concerts, and fundraising.

*Taste smoking, sizzling platters of chicken, beef, and seafood fajitas at The Original Ninfa's on Navigation, which is offering their famous Tex-Mex cuisine for dine-in.

A native Texan, author Sam Brown has lived in Houston nearly all his life. After college, he spent a year working and traveling in Asia. Sam returned home to teach science and writing in his beloved city of Houston before an early retirement in 2018 to write full time. Sam resides in the Montrose area of Houston with his beautiful wife and painfully cute rescue dog. He loves Houston sports, day drinking, and watching videos of dogs meeting babies.
