Congressman Colin Allred and Texas State Senator José Menéndez Host Roundtable on the Impact of COVID-19 in Texas

Yesterday, as hospitalizations related to COVID-19 continued to rise in Texas, Biden for President hosted a roundtable on the virus’s impact with Texas Congressman Colin Allred and Texas State Senator José Menéndez. The discussion centered on Joe Biden’s Plan to Beat COVID-19 and Plan for an Effective Re-Opening That Jumpstarts the Economy.

“We have widespread - uncontrolled spread of COVID-19 in our communities,” said Congressman Colin Allred. “And this is a time when we desperately, desperately need to have leadership at the national level from the President of the United States - and we’re not getting it. But the good news is we are just one-hundred-twenty-something days away from electing a new president of the United States - and that’s going to be Joe Biden.”

“We can do better [with the nation’s COVID response],” said Texas State Senator José Menéndez. “And we’re going to do better when Vice President becomes President Biden. We’re going to have a national response, one that’s there for everyone, one that is intelligent, one that believes in science, one that is going to say ‘we’re here to help so that this doesn't become this national crisis.’ And that’s why we need each and every one of you healthy so that you can show up and vote in November.”
