Houston, TX - Houston City Council Member Dave Martin would like to announce the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District staff have executed a modification to the West Fork San Jacinto River Emergency Debris Removal Contract effective June 7, 2019.

This USACE modification will begin the removal of the mouth-bar immediately before the height of hurricane season is reached. Council Member Martin and Chief Resiliency Officer Stephen Costello working with the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) continue to engage with the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) and USACE on further expanding the modification.
