Houston Native Turns Over Command of Naval Support Activity Sarasota Springs

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Cmdr. Christopher J. Tejada, a native of Houston, recently turned over command of Naval Support Activity (NSA) Saratoga Springs, New York, to Cmdr. Phillip Boice at a change of command ceremony held at the Saratoga Springs Knights of Columbus organization.

Tejeda, a 1992 graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School and 2000 University of Houston graduate, with 23 years of Naval service, said he was very grateful and honored to be the commanding officer of NSA Saratoga Springs.

“Both the military and civilian communities have been wonderful and I will have fond memories of my tenure here,” Tejeda said.

NSA Saratoga Spring’s mission is to deliver consistently efficient and effective shore readiness and operational support to the Fleet, Fighter, Family and perform host command functions in support of supported commands and the military community.

Tejeda’s father, Jose de Jesus Tejeda, and mother, Eduyina Salazar, both reside in Houston.
