Archbishop Joseph Fiorenza, Rabbi Samuel Karff and Reverend William A. Lawson have become to be known as Houston’s very own “wise men” according to Martin B. Cominsky, CEO of Interfaith Ministries of Greater Houston. The three representing different faiths have always stood for what’s just and right and fought for the injustices of many. Now the men are being immortalized in inspirational display, the Brigitte and Basher Kalai Plaza of Respect in Midtown, 3303 Main St., as iconic faith leaders. Cominsky told the Houston Chronicle he wanted the men to be “living symbols of the value of respect.” The display is awe-inspiring as each man’s photo is pictured on dichroic glass with his bio. During the day the sculptures reflect light and night they illuminate light, just like their lives.
