Mayor Turner officially declared Tuesday, Nov. 27 as "Simone Biles Day" and presented the gymnast with a proclamation and key to the City of Houston. Biles is the most decorated American gymnast and the third most decorated female gymnast in history. Mayor Turner boasted all about Biles achievements and her sheer determination to do her best. “This is a huge thing to have, and to be a Houstonian, I take a lot of pride in that,’ said Biles. She thanked Mayor Turner as her mother stood beaming. To date, Biles has 20 gold medals, three silver, and four bronze. Her latest win was at the World Championships in Qatar where she won four gold medals all while battling pain from kidney stones.
