Prairie View, TX - The City of Prairie View has adopted an ordinance for both the north and south sides of F.M. 1098 starting at University Drive to LW Minor street. This ordinance prohibits the parking of vehicles at any time.

This area of 1098 is heavily traveled and more so during events such as football games and other PVAMU related activities.

It has been a safety concern of the community that the parking along the roadway produces a greater potential for accidents for both vehicles and pedestrians. Parking will not be allowed along that entire stretch of roadway.

“The road should be free of obstructions giving access to all motor vehicles traveling the roadway and the pedestrians crossing F.M. 1098” Solomon said.

Any person who violates the ordinance is subject to a fine of $266.00 dollars and other penalties along with the possibility of having your vehicle towed for obstructing the flow of traffic.
