Luisa Santos owns the business everyone has at one point daydreamed of owning themselves – she’s the Latina powerhouse behind an ice cream shop. Lulu’s Ice Cream, which served its first cone at the beginning of 2014, started in Luisa’s Georgetown dorm room. Since its dorm room inception, Luisa has opened a brick-and-mortar ice cream shop in Miami that differentiates itself with how the ice cream is made – with locally-sourced ingredients and liquid nitrogen – and by the social good aspect Luisa has weaved into Lulu’s bottom line.
