Local Football Community Takes a Stand With DePelchin Against Child Abuse in Harris County

WHAT: University of Houston football team players and Rice University football team players along with the Texas Bowl Executive Board will join DePelchin Children’s Center Tuesday morning in tying blue ribbons for the 5,812 victims of child abuse in Harris County in 2016.

According to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, there were 5,812 confirmed victims of child abuse or neglect in Harris County last year. DePelchin has set a goal of tying 5,812 blue ribbons to its fence line, with help from the community, throughout the month of April.
