Kendrick Lamar's 2011 debut Section.80 has sold it's 500,000 copy. RIAA gave it the GOLD stamp of certification on April 14th, the same day Kendrick released DAMN.

It took Section.80 2,144 days to go gold. By comparison, DAMN. might go gold in 7 days. Of course, S.80 was initially released as a digital download and pre-dated Kendrick's deal with Interscope. The hype that has been boiling since he released "The Heart Part 4" has no doubt fueled a surge in S.80 streams.

Congrats to Kendrick Lamar! He should be getting that plaque in the mail any day now.
