Photography by Vicky Pink - Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee in partnership with Franklin Beauty and Barber Institute, She’s Happy Hair, She’s Happy Foundation, Phillis Wheatley High School, and Houston Food Bank hosted a Backpack Giveaway for Student Appreciation Day 2019. Students ages 7-17 received free backpacks, supplies, haircuts, and hairstyles to get ready for back-to-school. Some very special giveaways and surprises were sprinkled throughout the day. Students were hyped up with music and lots of empowerment from invited guests.
