Photography by Vicky Pink - Sharon M. Burney was all smiles as she sworn in as judge for Precinct 7, Place 2 Justice of the Peace. Judge Vanessa Gilmore issued the oath of office to Judge Burney. She was one of the 19 Black Girl Magic Sister Judges that recently won elections in Harris County. Frenchy’s Chicken and Sunshine’s Vegetarian Deli provided refreshments. Some in attendance celebrating with Judge Burney were Mayor Sylvester Turner, Sheree Harris-Fisher, Rev. Juanita Rasmas, Brianna Perkins, Treva Jones, Judge Zinetta A. Burney, Commissioner Rodney Ellis, Rev. James Nash, Lucy Bremond, Judson Robinson, and C. O. Bradford.
