The United Negro College Fund was back in Houston to host the annual Mayor’s Walk for Education Luncheon. The luncheon is the official kick off to the Walk for Education. Last year’s walk efforts were altered a bit due to Hurricane Harvey and a virtual walk was held. However, this year they are back on track. Attendees at the luncheon had networking opportunities as they heard the success stories of UNCF recipients and raised funds for future scholars. More than 1,500 walkers are expected at this year’s walk on September 8th at Tom Bass Park.
