Photography by Vicky Pink - Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee hosted her annually toy giveaway to make the lives of those underserved's holiday brighter. The hallmark holiday event is now in its 24th year and growing bigger every year. In 2017, they reached a record high attendance with approximately 13,000. Congresswoman Lee presented Simone Biles with a proclamation Participating organizations included the Houston Police Department, the Harris County Sheriff’s Department, the Houston Fire Department, NASA Astronauts, the Houston Zoo, Coca-Cola, the Oprah Winfrey Network, the Ensemble Theatre, Houston Ballet, Clutch the Rocket Bear, entertainers from across the country, professional athletes, college and high school bands, dancers, cheerleaders, and of course Santa himself.
