TSU's Aerospace Symposium

Photography by Vicky Pink - Texas Southern University's Aviation Science and Technology Department hosted their Aerospace Symposium in partnership with the Organization Black Aerospace Professionals to connect universities, community colleges, high schools, trade schools, and nonprofits in the world of aviation. Mario Diaz, the Director of Aviation for the City of Houston, spoke with those in attendance about the future of aerospace in south east Texas. A special appearance was made by Mrs. Azellia White, the first African American women to obtain a pilots license in the state of Texas. The 103 year old is an American History Legend and actually ferried airplanes for the Army Air Corp during WW II. Others in attendance were Dean Lane, Albert Glen, Tasjah Hall, Shelby de Zevallos, Ray Silvera, General Bailey, General Owens, Vernon Baker, Ed Booker, Jesse Brown, Jesse Hayes, Robert Banks, Dr. Charles Glass,Jody Dowd, Dwight Leblanc and X! Samuels.
