2016 Elected Officials Inauguration Ceremony

Photography by Vicky Pink - On Monday, January 4, 2016, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at Jesse H. Jones Hall for the Performing Arts for the 2016 Elected Officials Inauguration Ceremony. Mayor Sylvester Turner, City Controller Chris Brown, and the 16 members of City Council entered the auditorium escorted by family members. After Judge Vanessa Gilmore administered the oath of office to Turner and Brown, Turner swore in the members of Houston City Council. Dressed in a blue suit, Mayor Turner laid out his plan for Houston and his administration naming promises and deadlines in his inaugural speech. Grammy Award winner Yolanda Adams, Houston Symphony, Church Without Walls Choir, and High School for the Visual and Performing Arts gave stellar performances. It was indeed a great day for Houston.
