4th Annual “Honoring Our Fathers” Father’s Day Brunch

Photography by Vicky Pink - On Saturday, June 20, 2015, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Hess Club for the 4th Annual “Honoring Our Fathers” Father’s Day Brunch presented by the Houston Morehouse Alumni Association (HMAA). The brunch was a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds and the influence of fathers in society. Fox 26 Melinda Spaulding emceed the event that featured State Rep. Sylvester Turner as the keynote speaker. Omar Reid, Eric Lyons, Tony Chase Esq, Cedric L . Joubert Esq, and James Robertson Jr. were all honored as extraordinary fathers. Four young men, Steven Ragland, Bryce Thompson, James Caleb Payne II and Steven Taylor received scholarships from HMAA to continue their education. Some in attendance were Bryce Kennard, Rev. Dr. Joseph Samuel Ratliff, Will Norwood, J. O. B. Moseley, Yolanda Green, Bailey Davis, Pam Davis, Congressman Al Green, and Felix Chevalier.
