On Monday, February 23, 2015, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at Jack Yates High School as Harry E. Johnson, Sr., President and CEO of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Foundation was the featured Black History Month speaker at the school. Johnson held the students’ attention has he detailed the accounts of building the MLK Memorial and its significance in history. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee also addressed students. Others in attendance were Erica Lee Carter, Tammie Campbell, Carl Davis, Titus Bryant, and Dr. Carol Evans Shabazz.
