Politics in Hip and Hop Workshop

On Friday, September 26, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. for the Politics in Hip and Hop workshop during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 44th Annual Legislative Conference Weekend. Panelists included Rep. Andre Carson, Rakim, MC Lyte, Toure, Reverend Yearwood, Freeway Rick Ross, Valeisha Butterfield Jones, and Angela Rye. A lengthy discussion was held about various topics on policy shaping the next generation to encouraging women to look to careers behind the camera in the entertainment industry.
