Major League Baseball Civil Rights Game Reception

On Monday, May 12, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at Minute Maid Park in the owners’ suite for the Major League Baseball Civil Rights Game Reception. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, State Rep. Sylvester Turner, and the Astros Foundation hosted the reception that occurred before the Houston Astros took on the Texas Rangers. The reception is part of a series of events for the 2014 Civil Rights Game. Some in attendance were Dr. Edith Irby Jones, Elizabeth Campbell, City Councilman Jerry Jones, Bun B, Robbie Tolan, Bobby Tolan, Anzel Jennings, Goodwille Pierre, Rev. Leslie Smith, Judson Robinson, City Councilman Jack Christie, Yolanda Smith, Tony Bryant, Leslie Woodard, Lorenzo White, Diane Blanco, Bennie Lambert, and Ashley Wyatt.
