2014 UHBAA Scholarship and Awards Gala

Photography by Vicky Pink - On Saturday, March 22, 2013, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Hilton Americas for the 24th Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala presented by the University of Houston Black Alumni Association. Utilizing the theme “ Above and Beyond: Where Do We Go From Here?,” UHBAA honored Terence Fontaine, The Honorable Charles A. McClelland, Jr., Mary Page Prince, Dorethea “De” Rose, and Crystle Stewart as this year’s Distinguished Alumni; Roderick Brown and Fred Hoya as Distinguished Corporate Supporters. Rushion McDonald and Dr. Cicely McDonald were the honorary gala chairs and Wayne Luckett was the gala chair. Some in attendance were UHBAA President Brandon Wiggins, Deidre Fontaine, Courtney Fontaine, Dorothy Booker, Cynthia & Robert Stewart, Max Sebrechts, Congressman Al Green, Wanda Adams, Vonda Mays, State Rep. Sylvester Turner, City Councilman Larry Green, Judge Zinetta Burney, State Rep. Alma Allen, Sharron Melton, Rosa and Vernon Rush.
