2014 HISD State of Schools

Photography by Vicky Pink - On Wednesday, February 26, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Hilton Americas Hotel for the 2014 HISD State of Schools. The sold-out crowd heard HISD Superintendent Dr. Terry Grier’s plan for the future of HISD that included initiatives for expanding the dual-language programs, diversity, and addressing high school mobility rates. Some in attendance were State Rep. Senfronia Thompson, Gene Locke, State Rep. Alma Allen, Paul Harris, Carlotta Outley Brown, Houston City Councilman Larry Green, Argentina James, Caleen Allen, Erica Graham, Lucy Bremond, Dr. Laura Murillo, Gene Wu, Rhonda Skillern-Jones, Rev. Leslie Smith, Wanda Adams, Erica Lee Carter, Licia Ellis, and Scott McClelland.
