2013 National Town Hall Meeting in Washington, DC

Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC for the National Town Hall Meeting themed From Poverty to Prosperity: Confronting Violence, Restoring Opportunity and Investing in Our Youth. The town hall meeting is the centerpiece of the Foundation's 43nd Annual Legislative Conference (ALC), Sept. 18-21. Hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, the lively discussion was moderated by Reps. Donna F. Edwards and Cedric Richmond. This session brought together policy experts, thought leaders and engaged citizens at the grassroots level to shift the conversation from impersonal statistics to policy and community-oriented solutions geared toward restoring opportunity for our youth. Some in attendance were Rev. Leslie Smith, Cory Booker, and Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
