TWEF’s Sister to Sister Conference

Photography by TWEF - On Monday, March 25, 2013, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Wortham Theatre as the Texas Women Empowerment Foundation (TWEF) held their inaugural Sister-to-Sister Conference. In celebration of Women’s History Month, TWEF themed the conference “Celebrating the Bond of Excellence.” TWEF honored Angie Stone with the International Leadership Award and hosted some of the world’s most prominent figures like Dr. Debra B. Morton, Power Women Founder; Misty Grant President of Logos Educators Network; President & Chief Strategist of Cavazos Communications Sylvia Cavazos; and Author of Choices Martha Kennerson. In conjunction with the event, a food drive was held to help the greater community. Some in attendance were Darian Ward, Houston City Councilwoman Wanda Adams, Rev. Leslie Smith, Kim Roxie, Melinda Spaudling, and Kristyn and Francis Page.
