New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu took photographs of the Jefferson Davis statue being removed from its pedestal overnight. The Davis statue was the second of the four monuments to be removed in the Crescent City. Statues of Confederate Generals Robert E. Lee and P.G.T. Beauregard are still standing. The monument commemorating the Battle of Liberty Place was removed April 24, 2017.
