Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office Burglary and Theft detectives have arrested a suspect following an investigation into the theft of approximately $17,400 in gold and silver coins from a FedEx package intended for delivery to a Fort Bend County resident.

The investigation began in early July 2026 after detectives received a report involving a package that had been sent with a signature confirmation requirement but was intercepted before reaching its intended recipient. The package contained valuable gold and silver coins that a family member had expected to receive.

Through extensive follow-up, investigators identified Artur Kryvytskyi, 28, as the suspect believed to have fraudulently obtained the package using fictitious identification.

As the investigation continued, detectives determined that Kryvytskyi was also linked to theft investigations involving Montgomery County, the City of Sugar Land and the City of Houston.

The case has since expanded beyond the Greater Houston area, with numerous jurisdictions across the United States investigating similar thefts. Because those investigations remain active, authorities are not releasing information about how the packages are allegedly identified and intercepted.

On September 2, 2026, Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office detectives, with assistance from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at Kryvytskyi’s residence in The Woodlands and took him into custody on felony warrants.

During the search, detectives recovered stolen property believed to be connected to theft investigations in Montgomery and Harris counties.

Kryvytskyi was transported to the Fort Bend County Jail and booked on the following charges:

• Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information, Felony – Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office
• Theft of Property, Felony – Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office
• False Statement to Obtain Property or Credit, Felony – Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office
• Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information, Felony – Houston Police Department

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation demonstrates how theft schemes involving high-value deliveries can extend across multiple communities and jurisdictions. Law enforcement agencies continue to work together as the investigation develops.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims, and the case remains active and ongoing.

Residents expecting high-value deliveries are encouraged to consider picking up packages at staffed carrier locations when that option is available and to closely monitor shipment information. Any delivery discrepancies or suspicious activity should be reported immediately to the carrier and the appropriate law enforcement agency.
