Ahead of its highly anticipated Texas tour, Cirque du Soleil’s OVO hosted exclusive advanced media events in Austin and Houston on September 9 and 10, spotlighting Texas native Kyle Cragle. The acclaimed Cirque artist impressed audiences as the Hand-Balancing Dragonfly, a standout character in the show.
In Austin on September 9, Cragle debuted a pop-up performance at Zilker Botanical Garden, giving media guests an early taste of the spectacle that will soon take the stage at Moody Center from October 9-12. After the performance, Cragle toured the city, visiting iconic landmarks including the “I Love You So Much” mural and the Texas Capitol.
The excitement continued in Houston, Cragle’s hometown, on September 10. At the Houston Museum of Natural Science, visitors were treated to a surprise meet-and-greet and an intimate mini performance, offering a sneak peek into OVO’s whimsical world of insects. Cragle also explored the city, stopping at familiar destinations like the “We Love Houston” sign and Discovery Green.
These events build anticipation for OVO’s Texas run, which begins in San Antonio before heading to Houston and Austin. The Texas leg also marks the final North American stop before the show continues its international tour.
OVO will perform in Texas this fall:
- San Antonio at Frost Bank Center, September 25–28
- Houston at Toyota Center, October 2–5
- Austin at Moody Center, October 9–12
Featuring a cast of 53 world-class acrobats, musicians, and performers, OVO brings to life a vibrant ecosystem of insects in a visually stunning, family-friendly show. For a limited time, audiences can save up to 40% on tickets through Cirque du Soleil’s last-chance offer.
