Houston will host a unique evening of music, mindfulness, and global inspiration on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 6:00 PM, at the Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston. The event, titled Music, Mindfulness, and Mission, features Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Kailash Satyarthi and three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning musician Ricky Kej, celebrating the release of their new album, GANDHI: Mantras of Compassion. The project blends ancient Indian wisdom with world-class artistry.

Produced by Houston-based artist, poet, and lyricist Sumathy Ram, the album features contributions from over 230 musicians across 40 countries. Collaborators include GRAMMY®-nominated Chinese American cellist Tina Guo and GRAMMY®-winning Japanese shamisen player Masa Takumi. The compositions reimagine Gandhi’s favorite mantras and hymns within a soundscape of New Age and world music, emphasizing messages of peace, love, tolerance, and resilience.
Kailash Satyarthi has dedicated his life to ending child slavery, freeing over 100,000 children, and has been recognized by Time Magazine as one of the world’s most influential people. Ricky Kej, a composer and producer with 24 albums, has received India’s Padma Shri Award, the UN’s Global Humanitarian Award, and GQ’s Man of the Year recognition. Together, they bring Gandhi’s philosophy to new audiences through music and activism.
The event will feature:
- Premiere performances and album presentation of GANDHI: Mantras of Compassion
- Remarks from Satyarthi and Kej discussing activism and art
- The unveiling of the Nobel Laureate Exhibition honoring Satyarthi’s lifelong work
