Houston Arboretum Hosts Fourth Annual “Bat Fest” to Celebrate Local Wildlife

The Houston Arboretum will welcome families and nature enthusiasts to its fourth annual “Bat Fest” on Saturday, September 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event highlights the vital role bats play in local ecosystems, including controlling pests, pollinating plants, and dispersing seeds.

Attendees can explore informational booths showcasing local bat species and learn about conservation efforts aimed at protecting these often-misunderstood mammals. The festival will also offer bat-themed activities and crafts for children, story time, food trucks, and a blood drive organized by the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.

Organizers encourage parents to bring their children for a day of education and fun, celebrating the important ecological contributions of bats.
