Prairie View A&M University Gears Up for Hillmatic Homecoming Week

Prairie View A&M University will welcome thousands of students, alumni, family, and friends to its 1,440-acre campus for the annual Hillmatic Homecoming celebration. Tailgates, concerts, the big game, and class reunions will highlight the enduring Panther pride that spans generations.

The weeklong event, honoring legacy, culture, and community, takes place October 19–25, with October 26 designated as a day of service focused on campus beautification.

In anticipation of the large crowds and expanded schedule of activities, the university has implemented updated safety measures to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all guests. Enhancements include increased police presence, coordinated medical support, accessible cooling and hydration stations, and real-time communication tools. To balance celebration with community respect, amplified sound will conclude at midnight throughout the festivities.

The excitement will culminate on Saturday, October 25, when Panther Stadium hosts the PVAMU Panthers against the Lincoln University Oaklanders at 2 p.m. Gameday activities will feature a halftime performance by the renowned Marching Storm, a presentation of the university royal court, and ceremonial check presentations continuing a storied tradition.
