Houston Restaurants Honor Veterans with Free Meals on Veterans Day

As the nation prepares to observe Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Houstonians have a special opportunity to show appreciation for those who have served in the armed forces. Veterans Day, originally called Armistice Day, honors the courage, dedication, and sacrifices of military personnel, past and present. Across Houston, local restaurants are paying tribute with complimentary meals and special offers for veterans and active-duty service members.

Six Houston-area restaurants and restaurant groups are inviting service members to enjoy a heartfelt gesture of gratitude.

Avalanche Food Group (AFG), which owns Twin Peaks and Bread Zeppelin locations across the Greater Houston area, is offering free lunch at all Twin Peaks restaurants from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Veterans and active-duty military can choose from a special Veterans Day menu featuring Cheeseburgers and Fries, Smoked Chicken Street Tacos, Chicken Tenders with Fries, or a Chicken or Shrimp Caesar Salad. The Twin Peaks staff will don military camo tops in honor of the day.

At Bread Zeppelin, veterans and active-duty service members can enjoy 50% off any Zeppelin or Bowl from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Summit Square (3235 Southwest Freeway) and Memorial City (9753 Katy Freeway) locations with valid military ID.

Comfort Foodies, known for its Southern Soul and Caribbean flavors, is offering one free signature empanada to all veterans and active-duty military from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at their North Sam Houston Parkway location. Options include Beef, Chicken, Shrimp, or Spinach.

Fielding’s Wood Grill, a Woodlands favorite for modern American cuisine, is serving free desserts to military personnel from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Veterans can choose from Pumpkin Cheesecake, Amaretto Tres Leches, or White Chocolate Bread Pudding at 1699 Research Forest Drive in Shenandoah.

The Savoy, a Third Ward landmark, is offering a free meal from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring menu favorites such as BLT, Shrimp Basket, Legendary Savoy Burger, Chicken or Beef Quesadillas, or Vegan Fried Rice. Each entrée comes with a choice of fries or house salad.

Finally, Taste Kitchen + Bar in Downtown Houston is inviting veterans and active-duty service members to enjoy a complimentary breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., with one breakfast menu item of their choice (Lambchops excluded).

All offers require presentation of valid military ID and are available for dine-in only. These gestures allow Houston restaurants to honor and celebrate the men and women who have served the country with courage and dedication.
