Houston to Honor Veterans with Parade and Ceremony on November 11

Mayor John Whitmire is inviting Houstonians to join the City of Houston in honoring the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our nation. The City’s annual Veterans Day Parade and Program will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, as part of the “Houston Salutes American Heroes” celebration.

Texas is home to the largest veteran population in the nation, with more than 250,000 veterans residing in the state. The City of Houston continues its tradition of recognizing these local heroes through a day of reflection, ceremony, and community celebration.

The Veterans Day Ceremony will begin at 10 a.m., featuring acknowledgments and a distinguished keynote speaker honoring those who have served. At the 11th hour on the 11th day, attendees will observe a Moment of Silence in remembrance of the signing of the Armistice, which ended World War I.

Following the ceremony, the American Heroes Parade will step off at 11:30 a.m. at Dallas and Bagby streets. The parade route travels east on Dallas, north on Louisiana, west on Walker, south on Smith, and west on Lamar, concluding at Lamar and Bagby.

The parade will feature local veteran organizations, ROTC units, marching bands, and community supporters coming together to pay tribute to veterans. The event is open to the public, and all are encouraged to join along the parade route to show their respect.
