In celebration of National Hot Dog Day on July 16, Portillo’s is launching a week of promotions and limited-time collaborations honoring the iconic Chicago-style hot dog. Running from July 14–20, the fast-casual chain is offering $1 hot dogs to Perks loyalty members, along with exclusive products and events.

Highlights include a Chicago Dog Deep Dish Pizza created in collaboration with Lou Malnati’s, available at select Lou Malnati’s dine-in locations starting July 16. A launch event at Lou Malnati’s Gold Coast location in Chicago will feature a pop-up hot dog stand offering free slices while supplies last. Additionally, Portillo’s has partnered with Local Style Chips to release Chicago-style hot dog flavored kettle chips, available in restaurants and online.

In Texas, the celebration features a giant inflatable hot dog installation at Klyde Warren Park in Dallas and appearances by the Portillo’s Beef Bus® food truck, which will distribute giveaways and serve menu favorites.

Coinciding with the festivities, Portillo’s announced the grand opening of its fourth Houston-area location. The new restaurant, located at 25531 Tomball Parkway, will open on Tuesday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m., following a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Portillo’s Vice President of Restaurant Support, Michael Portillo, will participate in the event, which will also include a charitable donation to the Tomball ISD Education Foundation.

The 6,250-square-foot restaurant features Portillo’s “Restaurant of the Future” design with seating for 160 guests, double drive-thru lanes, pickup shelves, and a Grab-and-Go area for off-premise dining. Guests can enjoy menu staples such as Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago-style hot dogs, char-grilled burgers, crinkle-cut fries, and the signature chocolate cake.
