Commissioner Lesley Briones Reports $3 Million Cash on Hand for 2026 Re-Election Campaign

Briones enters 2026 race with strong fundraising and broad political support

Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones has reported more than $3 million in cash on hand for her 2026 re-election campaign, according to information released by her campaign. The figure includes $200,000 raised within the first 24 hours of her campaign launch in February.

Briones was first elected to the Commissioners Court in 2022 and currently represents Precinct 4, which spans parts of west and southwest Harris County, including sections of Houston, Alief, and unincorporated areas. Since taking office, she has focused on issues such as infrastructure investment, flood mitigation, public safety, and access to healthcare and early childhood education. She also serves on multiple county committees and boards related to budgeting, community services, and emergency preparedness.

Her campaign reports support from a wide range of local and regional figures. According to the campaign, Briones has been endorsed by 40 elected officials across multiple levels of government, including U.S. Representatives, state legislators, and city council members. In addition, more than 80 Democratic precinct chairs have reportedly endorsed her re-election bid.

The campaign cites both financial strength and a growing coalition of support as signs of momentum heading into the 2026 general election. Briones is expected to face challengers in what could be one of Harris County’s closely watched local races.
