Lupus Initiative Tour: Join The Gibson Lupus Arc in the Fight Against Lupus and Autoimmune Diseases

The Gibson Lupus ARC is actively seeking churches and community organizations interested in partnering to host a stop on their Lupus Initiative Tour. By opening your space, you'll help bring vital education, support services, and empowerment to individuals and families affected by lupus and autoimmune diseases in your community. Their hoping to create a collaborative synergy to create a healing environment where faith, hope, and wellness intersect.

The Gibson Lupus ARC has joined forces with organizations like the Lupus Foundation of America and other autoimmune disease advocates to expand our reach, elevate research, and build a united front against these invisible diseases. These partnerships amplify their work and ensure that no need goes unmet.

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that disproportionately affects women of color and often goes undiagnosed for years. It disrupts lives, limits opportunities, and burdens individuals with relentless physical, emotional, and financial challenges. The Gibson Lupus ARC is taking action—creating a movement that brings resources, healing, and hope to the forefront.

This tour is more than a series of events. It’s a lifeline. A platform for education. A call for empowerment. And a promise that no one has to face lupus alone.

What to Expect at Each Stop

Each tour stop in Houston will offer a blend of education, empowerment, and community support through:

Open Floor Panel Discussions
Interactive Educational Workshops
Peer Support Group Sessions
Community Resource Connections

They're building bridges—connecting individuals and families to life-changing support systems and reminding them that their voices matter, their struggles are seen, and their resilience is celebrated.

The Mission Behind the Movement

At the heart of the Gibson Lupus ARC is a powerful mission: to uplift those living with lupus and other autoimmune diseases by tackling the barriers that hold them back—unstable housing, unemployment, lack of access to care, and social isolation.

Through Lupus Awareness & Fundraising Tour, the aim will be towards the following:

- Raise awareness about lupus and autoimmune diseases

- Provide resources for chronic disease management

- Connect communities to support services

- Launch innovative housing and employment initiatives that restore dignity and independence

Programs that Heal, Empower, and Transform

Housing for Hope

Living with lupus often means managing unpredictable health, missed work, and high medical bills—factors that can lead to housing instability or homelessness. Our Supportive Housing Initiative will offer subsidized housing, life skills training, and case management to ensure a stable foundation for healing and progress.

The “Ticket to Work” Program
Employment can feel out of reach for those battling chronic illness. Through tailored job training, resume workshops, and workplace readiness support, we’re helping individuals rebuild their careers, regain independence, and reduce reliance on public assistance.

Health & Wellness Support
From chronic disease education and mental health counseling to help navigating insurance and medical care, we’re offering wraparound services that treat the whole person—not just the diagnosis.

Community & Connection
Peer support groups, social activities, and local events will foster belonging and emotional resilience. We know that healing happens not just in clinics, but in communities.

About The Founder:

Zuriel Gibson, a passionate advocate, speaker, coach, and entrepreneur dedicated to empowering individuals to live beyond their diagnoses. Diagnosed with lupus in 1997, she has walked the journey of uncertainty, resilience, and faith. Through it all, she has learned that a diagnosis does not define your identity—it’s simply a part of your journey, not the end of your story.

As the founder of Gibson Lupus ARC, she provides support, awareness, and resources to individuals navigating lupus and autoimmune diseases. Through Blue Wings 4 Hire, she helps various individuals with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) build independence and confidence in daily life. My coaching services focus on guiding people through personal transformation, mindset shifts, and holistic wellness—helping them reclaim their power and purpose.
